I almost forgot to do yoga tonight and just as I was ready to pack it in and head off to bed, I remembered. I thought I’d try the 15 minutes of half-lotus tonight, but once I sat down I realized that some stretching would be in order. Well, time flies when you’re having fun because by the time I was done stretching and warming up I had less than 4 minutes left. So I did half lotus for that and a little more.

I’m not sure how long, cause the 4 minutes seemed like 30 seconds. I just melted into the pose, my consciousness started to expand and I reflexively began repeating silent mantras. I’m not sure what it is about half-lotus, but it’s like magic. I can’t imagine what the experience of sitting full lotus must be like. I can hardly wait to find out.
