Every three months or so I like to mix it up and do yoga outside or in the morning or something like that. This morning, my friend and fellow yogini Gia V. awakened me from my slumber for some yoga under the willow trees in Yarnell.   Gia led Elaine and I in some “gentle stretches” for about for about 40 minutes under the willow and oak trees as we waited for breakfast to be ready. It was wonderful.  My favorite pose that we did is called Half Lord of the Fishes pose or Ardha Matsyendrasana and looks like this:

It’s weird (good weird) to have done yoga first thing in the morning.  Maybe in some future incarnation I’ll make a habit out of that, but I’m not committing to anything quite that radical just yet.
