I began my practice tonight standing simply in tree position. I was present, grounded and clear. As I decided how to begin and which poses to do, my mind began to ping from thought to thought to opinion to judgment like a pinball machine. I was convinced I wasn’t doing it right. But upon completion, as I stood once again in tree pose, hands clasped in prayer in front of my heart, I felt all at once, grounded yet light, enlivened and peaceful, and most of all, present. Turns out, it was a good practice after all.
